Privacy Policy
Updated 28 August 2026 · Effective 28 August 2026
The short version
- On this website we collect your email address and nothing else, so we can keep you posted and tell you when we launch.
- In the app we collect your profile, your messages and how you use it — that is what makes matching work.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not buy it from data brokers.
- You must be 18 or older to use Gimber.
- You can unsubscribe, edit your profile, or ask us to delete everything, at any time.
A summary, not a substitute — the full text below is what applies.
Age requirement
Gimber is intended solely for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete that information and close the associated account. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address in the Contact us section below.
Information we collect
On the website
If you join our waitlist, we collect only your email address. We use it to send you a confirmation and to keep you posted about Gimber, including when we launch. You can remove yourself at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us.
In the app — information you provide
- Account information: your email address and password, used to create and secure your account.
- Profile information: your username, age, location, bio, profile photo or chosen avatar, the games you play, your ranks and roles, your play-style preferences, and your Player DNA attributes.
- Messages and content: the messages you send to other users, and any content you submit through the app, for example reports you file about other users.
- Preferences: your matching filters, notification preferences, quiet-hours settings, and similar choices.
In the app — information generated through your use
- Activity data: your swipes, matches (duos), duo requests, blocks, and tournament registrations.
- Device and notification data: a push-notification token associated with your device so we can deliver notifications, and basic technical information needed to operate and secure the service.
Information from third parties
We use third-party service providers to operate the Services, described below. We do not purchase personal information about you from data brokers.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Tell you when Gimber launches, if you joined the waitlist.
- Create and manage your account and profile.
- Provide the core matchmaking service — showing you potential gaming partners, processing swipes and duo requests, and forming duos.
- Enable messaging between matched users.
- Deliver notifications you have enabled, and suppress them during your chosen quiet hours.
- Operate tournaments and related features.
- Keep the service safe — including enforcing blocks, handling reports, and preventing abuse or violations of our Terms of Service.
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Services.
- Comply with legal obligations.
How your information is stored and shared
Service providers
We host the website with Cloudflare and manage waitlist emails with Loops, which delivers mail through Amazon Simple Email Service. We host the app and its database using Supabase, and use Expo’s push-notification service — which relays through Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — to deliver notifications. These providers process your information on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments, solely to provide their services to us.
Other users
The app is a social product, so certain information is visible to other users by design: your profile — username, age, location, bio, photo or avatar, games, ranks, roles, play-style, and Player DNA — is shown to potential and matched partners, and your messages are visible to the users you exchange them with. Please only share what you are comfortable making visible to other users. Nothing you give us on the website is shown to other users.
Legal and safety disclosures
We may disclose information where we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with the law, enforce our Terms of Service, protect the safety of users or the public, or investigate fraud or abuse.
No sale of personal data
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. Waitlist email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. You can:
- Unsubscribe from waitlist emails using the link in any email we send.
- Edit most of your profile information directly in the app.
- Manage your notification and quiet-hours preferences in Settings.
- Block other users and manage your blocked list in Settings.
- Request access to or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at [email protected].
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls on our systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
As stated above, Gimber is not directed to and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
International users
Gimber is operated from Jordan. If you access the Services from outside Jordan, your information may be processed in Jordan and in the locations where our service providers operate. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the Last updated date and, where appropriate, notify you through the Services. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
